Rampart Range Cleanup

PRE-REGISTRATION FOR THIS HAS BEEN CLOSED. The following is all the information you will need to attend, but we would appreciate you texting Eve at the number below to let her know you are coming so that we will have enough food and supplies for everone.

SPONSORED BY: Community Partnership Family Resource Center in Woodland Park

This is an opportunity to work with 2 wonderful, local non-profits for a cleanup on Rampart Range. The focus will be on campsites on CR 300 (Rampart Range Rd) from Loy Creek to Mt. Herman Rd.

We welcome and need additional volunteers, but ask that if anyone is joining you to have them also pre-register so that we can make sure to have enough supplies, food and t-shirts for everyone.  If they decide to come last minute that is ok as well.  Saturday looks to be a lovely day, but we suggest that you dress in layers as weather is ever changing up on the mountain.

CARAVAN MEETING TIME & LOCATION:  ARRIVE EARLY, but if you would like to go directly to Base Camp on your own, feel free to do so.  Directions are given below.  The roads do NOT require 4WD, but are dirt and are washboardy, so give yourself plenty of time to go an appropriate speed. We suggest caravanning and following others up that are familiar with the area, or carpooling with friends.

8:15 DEPARTS  MONUMENT: Dirty Woman Park (17575 Mitchell Ave) in the main parking

                                                      lot by the playing field.

8:30 DEPARTS WOODLAND PARK: Woodland Park Middle School (600 E Kelley’s Rd) in

the bus loop on the east side of the school on Rampart

                                                                 Range Rd.

BASE CAMP – FS Road 945, which takes off on the west side of CR 300 (Rampart Range Rd), between Mile Marker 24 & MM 25. We will caravan to 945 to sign in and break into groups to work on 2 main sites just up the road.  We will then meet back again at FS Rd 945 for lunch.

Directions from Monument:  Take Mt Herman Road (CR 320) from Monument up to Rampart.  At the stop sign at the top, turn left onto CR 300 (Rampart Range Rd).  Continue about 1 mile and FS Rd 945 will be to the right.  It is after Mile Marker 25 and right before Mile Marker 24. Base Camp will be up the small hill and to your right.  You can see it from the road.

Directions from Woodland Park:  Take Rampart Range Road (CR 300) from Woodland Park past the Middle School.  At the first “Y”,  VIER LEFT (away from Rampart Reservoir).  Follow it up to the top where it turns to dirt and VIER LEFT at the “Y” onto Rampart Range Road (CR 300).  In about 2 miles, TURN LEFT onto FS Rd 945. It is right after Mile Marker 24 and before Mile Marker 25. Base Camp will be up the small hill and to your right.  You can see it from the road if you pass the turn.
